As a past member of a fire department for ten years I battled many fires, some bigger than others, but none as tragic as the loss of two young children experienced in my beginning years. After witnessing this tragedy I could see how important a role it was for a department to not just respond to tragedies but to rather prevent them before they happen.
Throughout my years as a firefighter I used my sign making skills to create many props and educational aids for my department's public education division. I have attended many public education conferences and seminars across Canada and U.S.A. and in 1998, I was awarded my fire department's "Safety Star" medal in recognition of contribution to Fire and Life Safety.
At the request of many surrounding fire departments I created several different educational kits with visual aids to help in the delivery of their educational programs. These kits were designed to be portable, visually appealing, with fast set-up and take-down.
Fire departments from coast to coast throughout North America are now delivering educational programs with kits from Hook Signs and I look forward to new and exciting products to help keep your communities safe.
Sincerely,
Robert Hook
